March 2011

This is a book cover design I have made for the french publishing house Le Retour Aux Sources. “La Question Raciale” makes a marxist -type analyse about the race question in western societies.
The cover is based on an image of a man split in half, being both white and black, and arrows that represent the decrease of work and the increase of capital in this everlasting chaotic process where race is as well a part of if.

There´s delays in the production of the fifth season of “Mad Men”. The holdup is due to AMC and show producer Lionsgate haggling over monetary details. “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner said, “The truth is I don’t even know what their plans are. We have not started writing. I am not back at work. My contract expired……they are fighting over a very lucrative property, and who is going to pay for it to get made.” Apparently AMC wants to shorten each episode with two minutes to squeeze in more commercials and fire two actors from the ensemble to save money. Which Matthew Weiner is fighting. Cred to that. Come on AMC, the show is brilliant. Keep it that way.

From Leo Burnett Thailand we get this inspiring commercial.

Oh, the 60`s…

The cover of Ken Garland’s catalogue for Galt Toys’ 1969/70 season has been made into a nice art print.

Needs to be said yet again. This is tv at its best. Ok, so I am a bit coloured from having been a former DDB and BBDO creative. But, that doesn´t take away the fact that “Mad Men” is a top tv drama.
