April 2018

So I have finally seen the second season of “True Detective”, the HBO anthology crime drama television series created by Nic Pizzolatto from 2015. To be honest I red all the negative reviews and talk after the airing in 2015 and I just put the idea of seeing it aside. Then I found it not that long ago for a cheap prize in a store and I bought it. And I must say I truly enjoyed this season with great performances from Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch, Kelly Reilly, and Vince Vaughn. I do not share the negative criticism at all and I reckon this season should get credit for being an intriguing crime drama with complex and interesting characters.

Been lost for words since friday. The DJ world has lost a true profile and Sweden has lost one of its own. Rest in peace. #TimBergling #Avicii

Love the title sequences in “True Detective” season 1 and 2 created by Elastic, the Los Angeles production design studio. A fantastic piece of work. (via Wired and Elizabeth Stinson)

On this day in 1991, Temple Of The Dog released their eponymous, certified platinum album. The band was conceived by vocalist Chris Cornell of Soundgarden as a tribute to his friend, the late Andrew Wood, lead singer of the bands Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone. The lineup included Stone Gossard on rhythm guitar, Jeff Ament on bass guitar (both ex-members of Mother Love Bone), Mike McCready on lead guitar, and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden on drums. Eddie Vedder appeared as a guest to provide some lead and backing vocals. This was prior to the forming of Pearl Jam. And what an album this is. #TempleOfTheDog
