February 2019

I am saddened to hear that Mark Hollis, musician, lead singer, songwriter and co-founder of the British band Talk Talk has passed away at the age of 64 years old. He achieved commercial success and critical acclaim in the 1980s and 1990s with Talk Talk which he formed in 1981 together with Lee Harris (drums), and Paul Webb (bass). A band I have listen to on and off since the 80s and in many ways that band defines the 80s with their art rock/post-rock/synth-pop. With his remarkable voice you knew straight away it was a Talk Talk song you listened to. Rest in peace Mark. Sad sad news…

True Detective – Season 3 has come to an end and it was not a season of my liking at least. Mahershala Ali is a great actor, but his character detective Wayne Hays has nothing likeable about him more or less, while Stephen Dorff is maybe not the greatest actor and his character detective Roland West is just a grumpy backdrop. The storyline ends up in one long dialogue that never seems to end and a mish mash of timelines plus a conclusion that just becomes a bit of a shoulder shrug. I missed the tension and excitement from previous seasons. True Detective – Season 3 is a disappointment in my opinion. #TrueDetective #HBO

Such a beautiful album. “Pink Moon” was released on 25 February 1972. My birth year. The title song has always made me think of my childhood of some reason. It´s somehow in the song. Nick Drake passed away in 1974 after battling depression. Rest in peace Nick. #NickDrake #PinkMoon

“Batman: Gotham by Gaslight” is a 2018 American animated steampunk superhero alternate history action thriller film produced by Warner Bros. The storyline puts Batman against the classic serial killer Jack the Ripper, who preys on Gotham’s poor and destitute women.

When I saw the cover in the store I thought it look really cool and wanted to see it in an instant. I bought it and to be honest I was expecting to see the same cool cover art as the animated film, but low and behold it was not that at all. The animation is more juvenile/childlike and doesn´t have the steampunk rawness to it I was hoping for. The idea is there, but the content was not what I wanted at least. I sometimes feel cheated when great artists create the cover art of a film or comic and then someone else does the actual animated film or comic.

James Bond 25’s release date has been pushed back by two months and is now expected to be released on 8th April 2020. The news was confirmed by the James Bond franchise’s official Twitter account, with a tweet that read: “The release date for Bond 25 has changed. Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli: “We are absolutely thrilled to be releasing Bond 25 on 8 April 2020.”

It’s been a rocky start to the franchise’s 25th output, and it’s not the first time the release date has been pushed back. Director Danny Boyle left the project over creative differences last year, which meant the slated November 2019 release date was set to be delayed. When the film’s new director, Cary Joji Fukunaga, took over, it was announced the new Bond film would begin filming at Pinewood studios this March before being released to the world on February 14, 2020. But the date has now been pushed back two months.

Daniel Craig, who has starred in the last four bond films, is set to star once again in the next release. However, it’s currently unknown as to whether he’ll carry on as 007 following Bond 25

Speculation as to who would take over the role should Craig exit has been building steadily – with Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Richard Madden and Tom Hardy all touted as potential replacements. Last month, Idris Elba teased fans speculating over the rumours he could take up the Bond role with a cheeky selfie with Daniel Craig at the Golden Globes. While Bohemian Rhapsody’s Rami Malek has teased he could be the next Bond villain. (via NME)
