Need to see this. #BeastieBoysStory

The new Beastie Boys video directed by Spike Jonze.

Beastie Boys have teamed up with Spike Jonze on the video for their Santigold collaboration ‘Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win’. The band announced via their official website their plans to team up with the director who previously worked on their 1998 clip for ‘Root Down Version 2’ and 1994 video ‘Sabotage’.

The rap veterans posted a picture from the video on their site and the following statement: “Coming your way this July. Both short and epic length videos for the song we made with Santigold. “The video was directed by our esteemed colleague Mr Spike Jonze. It is an explicit action adventure spectacular. It features action figures of us and yes, they are ACTION figures, NOT dolls!”

No official release date has yet been set for the video of their next single, which is lifted from their recent album ‘Hot Sauce Committee Part 2’. (via NME)

Arcade Fire’s video for their next single “The Suburbs” has been directed by Spike Jonze. The single will be officially released on December 20. This is the second time Jonze has worked with the band. The acclaimed filmmaker used their song “Wake Up” as the backing music for the trailer for his 2009 movie “Where The Wild Things Are”. (via NME)

Speaking about IKEA, this is an older and brilliant commercial with Spike Jonze signature.

While I am at it, I might as well push a bit more for the brilliant Spike Jonze, and the work he has done for the music industry and bands such as Beastie Boys, Daft Punk, Dinosaur Jr, Weezer etc. You can buy this dvd and get a proper insight to his work.

My old favourite videoclip/movie director Spike Jonze has made a new commercial for Lakai Limited Footwear.
