It has been a year since the passing of Marvel’s comic book legend Stan Lee. For the one-year anniversary of his death, several fans paid tribute to the legendary creator. Artists whipped out their sketching materials and creative juices to immortalize Lee as part of the Marvel universe through their work.

Stan ‘The Man’ Lee and his comic book creations was a big part of my childhood and still is. For that I am forever grateful. I am as well glad that he got to experience how his great Marvel creations came to proper life on the silver screen during the past years.

Rest in peace Stan.

Rest in peace Stan Lee. The editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, and later its publisher and chairman. In collaboration with several artists – particularly Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko – he co-created fictional characters including so many of my childhood superhero favourites such as Spider-Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Black Panther, the X-Men, and – also with co-writer Larry Lieber – Ant-Man, Iron Man, and Thor. Stan Lee pioneered a more complex approach and presentation of comic superheroes. This is a sad sad day for the comics universe. #StanLee
