The map2 is a pocket-sized paper map that uses clever folding to allow you to zoom in, showing an enlarged view of an area. Designed by Anne Stauche, a usability expert with experience designing digital products, the ‘map2’ was inspired by the “great zooming features of online map systems”.The map2’s ingenious design beautifully combines the functionality of digital maps while retaining the convenience and tactile experience of paper. Available for the cities of London and Berlin, Stauche has plans to produce maps for other cities. A map for New York can currently be funded through Kickstarter. (via DesignTaxi)

A great idea.
